  • Gestational Hypertension – It is also known as pregnancy-induced hypertension which occurs after a woman has pregnant for 20 weeks. Generally one will recover a few weeks after giving birth.   • Malignant hypertension – This is a very rare type of hypertension where the systolic value will raise to more than 180 mm Hg and diastolic value to 120 mm Hg. Having to say that, it is very dangerous and can cause serious organ damages.
  • Isolated systolic hypertension – This mostly happens to the elderly. The systolic number will increase to more than 140 mm Hg but the diastolic value is lower than 90 mm Hg.
  • White coat hypertension – If one is too worried or stress during a doctor check up, his or her blood pressure may shot up. It is usually temporary and the bp level will back to normal range when they are calm. So relax! 🙂
